Police are on the hunt for three people in connection with the slaying of a man in his Weeks Avenue apartment early Sunday morning.
William Easter, 52, lived between 175th and 176th streets, where police say a neighbor found his body with several stab wounds just after 1 a.m. He was pronounced dead at St. Barnabas Medical Center.
Police say they are looking for two men and one woman. They say Easter may have had an argument with one of them prior to the stabbing.
The neighbor who found Easter's body says she heard sounds of a struggle -- and possibly a stun gun being used to incapacitate the victim.
Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
The victim's friends say his wife was not home at the time of the attack. They describe him as a hardworking custodian who largely kept quiet and out of trouble.
