Booze cruises leaving Sheepshead Bay

Party boats, informally known as “booze cruises,” currently stationed in Sheepshead Bay will move elsewhere over the next six months.
Residents said they have long complained that the cruises, docked on Emmons Avenue, leave groups of rowdy drunken people, plaguing their neighborhood with trash, noise and parking problems.
Elected officials have previously called for the city to implement an 11 p.m. curfew.
Assembly Member Steven Cymbrowitz and City Councilmember Chaim Deutsch announced that three of the seven boats will be relocated by May 1 to a pier in Mill Basin.
The other four boats will be allowed to spend the summer in Sheepshead Bay but will be moving to the Brooklyn Army Terminal in September.
Elected officials say there will be a larger police presence this year to ensure the safe operation of the cruises as they finish their last summer in Sheepshead Bay.
