Brooklyn mom pleads not guilty in assault of daughter’s classmate

A Brooklyn mom pleaded not guilty this morning after being accused of assaulting her daughter’s classmate earlier this year.
Temeekah Douglas’s lawyer, Jay Schwitzman, explained that Douglas is accused of assaulting 13-year-old Chyna Tenpow after she saw her fighting with her daughter at their school, Roy Mann Middle School in Mill Basin.
Schwitzman claims that a video of the events shows Douglas was actually trying to break up the fight, which happened in February.
Sandy Rubenstein, attorney for Rene Tenpow, the mother of the victim, disagrees.
Rubenstein said, “The fact that the District Attorney’s Office charged this mother with a crime, no charges against my client, demonstrates the fact that the tape, pictures of the truth, shows this defendant assaulting a 13-year-old child.”
Douglas is expected back in court on June 13.
