New Yorkers are on high alert after a possible exposure to measles.
It comes after two people visiting a few Jehovah’s Witness institutions in the state are confirmed to have the disease.

News 12 is told two tourists from Europe with the disease visited the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses at 873 New Jersey Ave. in East New York last Sunday.
Officials say anyone who was in this area between 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. could have been affected, since the virus can remain alive in the air and on surfaces for a couple of hours.
For those born before 1957 who have received two doses of the measles, mumps and rubella vaccine or have already had measles are considered to be protected or immune to the disease.
Some symptoms include a fever, rash, cough, conjunctivitis or runny nose and those usually appear about 10 to 12 days after being exposed.

Two locations in Putnam and Orange counties are also included in the warning.
Those who think they may have been exposed are advised to see a doctor as soon as possible.
