A Hauppauge man says he wants the town to do something about damage to his property caused in recent car accidents.
Thomas Lopez, who shares the home with his parents, says cars have barreled through the fence of their Old Willets Road home more than once.
"I was worried that someone really could have been hurt, and I was going to have a dead person in my backyard," he says.
The Lopez family says two crashes have happened there since February.
"It's becoming more of a common problem, it seems like," says Richard Lopez.
The family wants the Town of Smithtown to install a guardrail to prevent anyone else from driving off the road.
The town says its director of traffic is aware of the issue and looking into it.
