Fairfield police say a man broke into a restaurant Wednesday night and got away with cash.
The incident happened around 11:30 p.m. at the Coromandel Cuisine of India restaurant in the Southport part of town. It's located on Pease Avenue, off of Exit 19 of I-95 South.
The owner says the suspect somehow unlocked the front door and smashed in another one to get inside. Surveillance video shows the suspect hopping over the bar, knocking over some equipment, yanking the cash register drawer and taking off.
An undisclosed sum of money was in the drawer, police say. They also say the suspect drove up to the restaurant in a white SUV and was wearing a mask, tan cargo pants and a zip-up jacket.
The owner says the restaurant would be open Thursday night.
Police ask anyone with information to call them at 203-254-4800.
