Police: 15-year-old brought loaded gun to Midwood HS

A 15-year-old student was taken into custody after police say he brought a loaded gun to Midwood High School.
The school does not have metal detectors. Police say the teen told school safety agents that he brought a gun because he expected some sort of fight after school.
News 12 is told that officers quickly removed the gun and arrested the boy. There were no signs of any fights brewing around dismissal.
"There is absolutely no place for weapons in our schools, and we are providing ongoing supports to the school community," the Department of Education said in a statement.
Midwood High School is one of the largest schools in Brooklyn, with about 4,000 students.
