Photo essay explores work of late sculptor's Bronx art

A Bronx woman is working to capture the iconic art pieces that dawn high above the buildings around Parkchester.
Sharon Pandolfo has been taking pictures of the terracotta statues produced by the late artist Joseph Kiselewski.
Kiselewski’s artwork adorns building around the Bronx community and tells the story of Parkchester and its rich diverse history.
Pandolfo uses an Instagram page called "The Parkchester Project" to display her findings.
She says she hopes her photos encourage others to learn about the history of their own communities.
"When you get off the train, it's the first thing that greets you and lets you know you’re home. There is no other area that has this type of artwork and detail," she says.
