Rep. Frank Pallone visited Raritan Bay Medical Center in Perth Amboy Monday to unveil new legislation for health care.
The Democratic congressman says that his bill reverses some of President Donald Trump's executive orders on health care. It would end the cap on eligibility for premium tax credits, increasing subsidies for all income brackets.
“The Republicans say to me, ‘Oh, what are you worried about?’ They believe in personal responsibility; everybody has to take responsibility for their plan,” Pallone says. “How many of the people that are actually buying these things know that it doesn't include hospitalization? Or it doesn't include maternity or is doesn't include pediatric care? They don't know.”
The congressman says that he's hoping to find bipartisan support for the bill and wants it included in the spending bill.
