Uber driver critical after shooting, suspect remains at large

A 26-year-old Uber diver is in critical but stable condition after being shot several times by a passenger.
Police say Jeffrey Camacho stopped to pick up a passenger hailing a cab at Fish Avenue and Boston Road early Saturday morning.
Authorities say the customer shot Camacho with a 9mm weapon after being dropped off on Morrison Avenue.
The suspect made off with $23. Officials say his vehicle was not equipped with a security camera.
Police say Camacho usually uses the Uber app to pick up passengers but for some reason picked up an illegal “street hail.”
Bronx Uber driver Sikota Liwena says Uber drivers can be fined or even lose their license for picking up street hails.
Camacho, who is the father of three daughters, remains hospitalized.
The Federation of Taxi Drivers is offering $1,000 to anyone who has information that could lead to an arrest in the case.
