SUNY Downstate Medical Center students learn residency placements

Medical students in East Flatbush learned Friday which hospital they would complete their residency at.
SUNY Downstate Medical Center held its 'Match Day,' an important event where senior medical students find out what their next step would be. Out of the 200 students, organizers say the majority of them will become doctors in the New York area.
"This is one of the best feelings," says student Puja Patel. "I don't know if I've ever been happier than I am now."
Those words from Patel just after she learned that she will do her residency at Mount Sinai in New York.
The letters the students receive reflect years of hard work, dedication and a journey to the next stage of their lives.
