(AP) - Students at a southern New Jersey high school are showing their support for a teacher who was suspended for his comments about the Florida school shooting.
Hundreds of Cherry Hill High School East students staged a walkout Tuesday morning to protest the action taken against teacher Timothy Locke. It came one day after another student protest there.
Locke was placed on administrative leave Thursday after discussing the Parkland High School shooting and saying a similar event could happen at the school.
Locke has said he's concerned with security at the school. He says the two campus police officers are not armed.
Many parents and students say they share Locke's concerns and believe the teacher's discussion was relevant. They have called for his immediate reinstatement.
School district officials have declined comment on the matter because it's a personnel matter.
