Norwalk residents spent Sunday making the most of the fresh snow on the ground with a snowman-building contest.

Ripka's Beach Cafe held the contest, bringing people of all ages to make their best snow creations.

All participants received a gift card to the restaurant.

"I thought why not, just get people down here to hang out at the beach, have some hot chocolate, make some snowmen," says Ripka's owner Clyde Ripka. "It's great to get the community down here, especially off season."
