Marvel's critically acclaimed "Black Panther" hit theaters, and Brooklyn residents flocked to movie theaters this weekend to see it.
Showings across the borough were in high demand, with some moviegoers having to wait longer than intended due to sold-out shows.
Many came to showings in traditional African clothing to support their heritage.
"Black Panther" saw a record-setting $192 million debut in U.S. and Canada theaters. The film from the Walt Disney Co. blew past expectations to become the fifth-highest-grossing debut ever, not adjusting for inflation, following only "Star Wars: The Force Awakens," ''Star Wars: The Last Jedi," ''Jurassic World" and "The Avengers."
