Pelham students protest gun control laws after Florida shooting

Activists from the Progressive Women of Pelham, and students at Pelham High School took part in a sit-out Friday to protest gun control laws following the deadly Florida school shooting.
The co-chair from the Progressive Women of Pelham helped organize the protest. She says she can't believe people are not out in the streets calling for change.
One Pelham High School junior who took part in the sit-out says there is a strong need for stricter gun laws. She says Congress isn't doing anything at this point and adds that she sometimes wonders if her school is going to be next.
Pelham High School held assemblies all day to go over protocol in case something like this ever happens. The school's principal told the kids she wishes she could assure them that something like what happened in Florida would never happen at their school.
Activists say things need to change and that the United States should be better than this.
