Some families left homeless by a massive fire in Concourse Village say some of their belongings have gone missing.

Marcus Knight says that when he and other displaced families were finally allowed back in their 1686 Clay Ave. apartments after more than a month, he had hoped to salvage what was not damaged by fire or water. Instead, he says clothing, jewelry, purses and other belongings left in the apartment were gone.

Charles Francisco, 20, lives in the building with his mother. He provided News 12 with video of his damaged unit, claiming some Christmas presents were missing from the apartment.

The city Department of Buildings say a full vacate order was issued for safety reasons the day after the fatal fire, meaning only designated personnel and emergency workers were allowed in the building.

News 12 reached out to the management agency in charge of the building about the missing property claims. A representative said by phone that a restoration team was hired shortly after the fire and that workers secured the building and apartments.

The NYPD urges anyone who believes they were a victim of theft to file a police report.
