Bronx residents went nutty over some furry friends over the weekend.
Friends of Pelham Parkway celebrated Squirrel Appreciation Day Saturday by feeding droves of hungry squirrels with peanut butter pine cones.
The grassroots organization has a mission of educating people on keeping the parkland clean.
Some volunteers helped them make a positive impact on the environment Sunday by cleaning the park for not only the squirrels, but residents as well.
The organization is also trying to raise money to build six homes for squirrels at the park.
