Police are asking for the public's help in finding the trio responsible for a violent robbery at the Sam Aden Grocery in Soundview.

They say the group ran into the Westchester Avenue deli with guns demanding money last Wednesday around 9:30 p.m.

During the robbery, two customers walked into the store.

The assailants forced one to the front of the store and the other to the back of the store, shooting one customer in the leg. He's expected to survive.

The trio got away with $1,000 from the cash register and $500 from the cashier’s pocket, along with his cellphone.

They were last seen near the corner of Westchester and Commonwealth avenues.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
