Posted: Updated:
NEW BRITAIN -

Authorities have identified the officers involved in Thursday’s deadly officer-involved shooting in New Britain.

According to authorities, detectives Ratajczak and Kiely, along with officers Slavin, Jones and Nelson, discharged weapons in the area of Chapman Street and Chapman Court.

Authorities say officers attempted to stop a vehicle in connection with several recent carjackings and robberies.

Police say the officers ordered the suspects out of the vehicle, but it sped at them. At least two officers opened fire.

Connecticut State Police say Zoe Dowdell, 20, of Bloomfield, died.

The survivors, Noah Young, 18, of Bloomfield, and a 15-year-old boy, were both arrested.

Officers say they found a handgun in the vehicle.

The Hartford Courant reports Young was ordered held on a $1 million bond on drug charges.

Young told police he didn't know about the robberies or the gun in the car.

The officers involved are on desk duty pending an investigation.

AP wire services helped contribute to this report.
