An out of control oil tanker flipped over and smashed into a pickup truck, causing a massive early morning explosion in Lake Grove.
Ricardo Ramos, of Coram, says he was driving on Middle Country Road around 6:15 a.m. when the tanker flipped and smashed into his truck.
It was quickly fully engulfed in flames.
"I've never been in a situation like that…that was like a movie," he told News 12.
Ramos says he quickly got out of his truck, but noticed the driver of the tanker was struggling to escape. He then helped the driver to safety.
A third car, a BMW, was also involved in the accident.
Officials say there were no serious injuries.
It's unclear what caused the crash, but Friday's snow certainly made for some slick road conditions, and people who live in this area say drivers go too fast on Middle Country Road.
Investigators say 3,900 gallons of home heating oil were spilled onto the street, which fueled the fire and shut down the roadway for most of the day.
