A 5-year-old boy who miraculously recovered after being shot in the head by a stray bullet in the Bronx received a warm homecoming.
Jaheem Hunter, 5, walked into the police service area to a round of thunderous applause Thursday.
He made the journey home from Blythdale Children's Hospital where he was recovering after getting shot in the head back in June.
Hunter was greeted with presents and a cake featuring one of his favorite superheroes—Spider-Man.
Police say Hunter was shot in the head on his 5th birthday while he was walking with his father to a car. Michael Quiles was eventually arrested and charged in the shooting.
Hunter still has a long road ahead of him, according to his family and still has to attend therapy.
