Police: 3 stabbed in dispute near Coney Island school

Three people were stabbed during a dispute Tuesday near a school in Coney Island, police say.
Police say a fight broke out shortly after 2 p.m. at Neptune Avenue and Ocean Parkway, about a block from Lincoln High School.
Police say the three people suffered minor injuries and were expected to be OK. News 12 is told that the victims are 15, 17 and 18 years old. Police say they took three other teens into custody.
A Department of Education spokesperson says Lincoln High School, William E. Grady High School and I.S. 303 were placed on shelter-in as police investigated. The spokesperson adds that the incident was not on school property, but the shelter-ins were done out of an abundance of caution.
Sources from the school safety agent union tell News 12 that the stabbed students are from James Madison High School.
