Holiday party held for children of incarcerated parents

The nonprofit Excellence in Success is making it their mission to give the children of incarcerated parents a happy holiday season.
The group held its holiday party Saturday at the Brentwood Country Club where there was plenty of food, fun and gifts for children.
President Alicia Figueras-Lambert says her work as an educator in the Nassau County Jail inspired her to host the party.
"I worked for the jail for about 13 years and I always saw a void in the inmates' eyes of not being able to be with [their] children," said Figueras-Lambert. "That inspired me to do something positive for their kids because they didn't have a choice."
She says the annual celebration takes nearly a year of planning.
