Police across LI crack down on DWI, distracted driving on Thanksgiving

Police in Nassau and Suffolk counties announced increased patrols around Thanksgiving to crack down on drunken or distracted drivers.
The patrols began on Thanksgiving Eve, which is typically considered one of the biggest party nights of the year.
Nassau police say officers had already made 10 DWI arrests Wednesday.
Suffolk police say there were 11 DWI arrests from midnight to 8 a.m. Thursday.
