Syosset students take on anti-Semitism with Holocaust play

High School students in Syosset pushed back against hate Thursday night, taking to the stage to perform "I Never Saw Another Butterfly," a play based on the children of the Holocaust.
The students say they wanted to send a message after swastikas and anti-Semitic symbols turned up at the school in August.
Those symbols, the students say, are not a joke.
"They mean something to the people whose relatives survived -- and to those whose relatives didn't survive," says Gene Connor, the director.
Proceeds from the production will go to the Holocaust Memorial and Tolerance Center of Nassau County.
