Suffolk police say a man placed a food delivery order for a randomly chosen address, and then robbed the deliveryman at knifepoint.
Investigators say 27-year-old Ricardo Vargas, of Selden, ordered food from Bella Maria Restaurant in Coram Saturday night. He had the food delivered to a home on King Street in Port Jefferson Station.
When the 61-year-old pizza deliveryman arrived, Vargas allegedly pulled out a knife and stole cash and the food.
Police say Vargas then fled on foot, and the deliveryman called 911. After a search, officers say they located Vargas on nearby Hewes Street.
He was arrested and charged with first-degree robbery, and police say he also had an outstanding misdemeanor warrant.
