Crews unsuccessful in removing barge from Bayonne shore

Work crews were unsuccessful in removing a large barge from the Bayonne shoreline Monday evening.
Sunday's stormy weather was responsible for washing the barge into the shoreline near West 21st Street in Newark Bay. The Bayonne Office of Emergency Management says the barge broke free of its moorings during the storm.
Crews had to wait until high tide to attempt to remove the barge. A tugboat was brought in to tow the barge but was not able to move it.
Bayonne officials say that they will bring a bigger tugboat in, but they won’t be able to remove the barge until Sunday.
