Police say they need the public’s help tracking down those responsible for stealing more than $17,000 in jewelry from a store in Wilton.
It happened Wednesday afternoon around 2:30 p.m. at Campus Jewelers on River Road.
According to police, they are looking for four suspects, one man and three women.
Police are hoping surveillance video will help people identify them. In the video, the male suspect is seen taking several items.
Police say it was all happening as the women served as a distraction at the counter, speaking with two workers and trying on jewelry.
The owner tells News 12 Connecticut that the man and one of the women came into the store a couple weeks ago, but did not steal anything.
Police are hoping the incident will serve as a lesson to store owners.
Authorities are urging anyone who has information about the suspects to call 203-834-6260.
