Traffic light coming to Norwood intersection

A traffic light is coming to the intersection of East 204th Street and Decatur Avenue in Norwood.
The light is the result of concerns from the community about safety. Citing NYPD data from 2010 to 2014, the city Department of Transportation says the intersection saw a total of 15 crashes, none of which were fatal or resulted in serious injury.
Currently, there are traffic lights on both blocks, bookending the intersection, but there is only a stop sign controlling traffic in what residents say they consider to be a busy and dangerous area. There's also no crosswalk to get from one side of Decatur Avenue to the other.
The traffic light was approved on Aug. 7. The DOT says installation takes about four months after approval.
