Police are asking for the public's help to find the woman they say robbed six different establishments in Suffolk County since September.
Officials say the latest robbery happened on Tuesday night at a Dollar Tree on Horseblock Road in Medford.
According to police, the same woman shows up at the stores around closing time, typically grabs an item to purchase, goes to the cashier and during the transaction takes out a pocket-sized knife and demands cash. Police say the woman then receives cash and leaves the store without using violence.
According to police, the other robberies happened on Sept. 23 at a Family Dollar in Farmingville; on Sept. 29 at a Family Dollar on Portion Road in Ronkonkoma; on Oct. 13 and Oct. 14 at a Carvel on Horseblock Road in Farmingville; and Oct. 16 at a Dunkin' Donuts on Medford Avenue in Patchogue.
During a press conference, Suffolk Police Commissioner Tim Sini displayed a picture of a person of interest taken from surveillance cameras. The woman is described as wearing white or orange face paint.
Anyone with information is asked to call Suffolk Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. A cash reward for tips that lead to an arrest is being offered.
