Police say a 23-year-old driver is in police custody after leaving the scene of a deadly car fire early Friday morning.
They say Ahman Saeed left his 25-year-old passenger Harleen Grewel to die in the flames.
Witnesses on scene say Saeed hailed a taxi, which brought him to Maimonides Medical Center. Police later found him there being treated for burns.
The car fire also shut down the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway and Gowanus Expressway during Friday's morning rush.
Saeed faces charges including manslaughter, leaving the scene of an accident and driving without a license.
