Brooklyn charter school offers places for students from Puerto Rico

Bedford Stuyvesant New Beginnings charter school will make seats available for any children forced to leave Puerto Rico in the wake of Hurricane Maria.
Students at the school have been packing up donations for Puerto Rico for the past couple of weeks.
“My grandma, she's doing fine, but she hasn't had that much water and food. I'm packing up all the supplies to give it to countries that are suffering loss from the hurricane,” says third-grader Nashabely Tejada.
The school says it is channeling a federal law that requires public schools to waive documentation requirements for kids in temporary housing.
