NYPD: Police shoot man in Brooklyn

BROOKLYN -

Police say they shot and injured an armed man in East Flatbush.

The incident happened around 10:15 Thursday night.

According to police, officers responded to calls of a man with a gun and confronted the suspect.  When he ran off, police say they saw what appeared to be a gun in his hand.

One officer fired, hitting the suspect in the leg.

Police say the weapon recovered from the scene was later determined to be a BB gun.

The suspect is listed in critical condition.
