A family friend of the high school student accused of stabbing two classmates in their West Farms school say he was the victim of bullying.
As News 12 has reported, Abel Cedeno, 18, allegedly stabbed Matthew McCree, 15, and Ariane Laboy, 16, during third period. Matthew later died at St. Barnabas Hospital, where Laboy remains hospitalized in critical condition.
Police escorted Cedeno out of the NYPD's 48th Precinct building Wednesday night. He did not answer any questions as police brought him in handcuffs past reporters.
A woman who called out to him in support later described herself as a family friend and said he was "a good boy."
Authorities said the school would enact stricter security measures Thursday.
