A man is accused of sexually assaulting two women in the Bronx over the course of a year, police say.
The NYPD Special Victims Units has been investigating the rape pattern for almost a year.
The first incident took place in November 2016, just one street west of the location of the second Parkchester attack just a week ago. Police say the most recent attack occurred on Sunday, Sept. 10 around 1 a.m.
Investigators say a 28-year-old female was in her home on Thieriot Avenue, when an unidentified individual entered her bedroom window through the fire escape, displayed a firearm, demanded money and then sexually assaulted the victim.
News 12 is told the man was last seen fleeing the second victim's fire escape near Thieriot Avenue early last Sunday. Officials say the suspect used the same exit strategy as the attack one year ago.
In both cases, investigators say both victims were in their homes when the man used a fire escape to enter through their windows.
Police say they are looking for the male described as black with a light complexion, weighing around 200 pounds and standing at 5 foot 7 inches tall.
They say he was last seen wearing a light-colored hat, dark-colored pants and black and white shoes with a light-colored jacket.
Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS
