It's apple-picking season! News 12's Elizabeth Hashagen learns how to make a delicious apple crisp a la mode.
Recipe from Harbes Family Farms
Apple Crisp a la Mode
Ingredients:
Streusel topping
1/2 lb. Salted butter
1/2 lb. light brown sugar
2 cups donut mix
21 oz. oats
Filling
2 quarts large diced apples (remove skin)
1 cup granulated sugar
3 1/4 tsp cinnamon
Procedure:
1)    Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
2)    Combine streusel topping ingredient in a separate bowl.
3)    Combine the granulated sugar and cinnamon in a separate bowl. 
4)    Places large diced apples in pan.
5)    Add sugar and cinnamon mixture into the pan with apples. Mix together to evenly spread the mixture. 
6)    Top with the streusel mixture.
7)    Cover with aluminum foil and place in oven for 30-minutes. 
8)    Remove aluminum foil and bake for an additional 10-minutes. 
9)    Once ready to serve top with vanilla ice cream.
