The Yankees finished an unusual road trip on a high note Wednesday afternoon.
The Bronx Bombers traveled to Queens and played a three-game series with Tampa Bay at Citi Field, the home of the Mets. The change was necessitated by Hurricane Irma in Florida.
The Yankees did just enough offensively in the 3-2 win, and they won the series two games to one.
Brett Gardner's two-run single in the second inning was the biggest hit of the game, and the bullpen and Aroldis Chapman were able to close out the Yankees's ninth win in their last 13 games.
The team will play 14 of their last 17 games of the season at home.
