Hundreds turned out in Fairfield Wednesday for the funeral of a Bridgeport man who police say was killed while using a forklift at work.
Mazhar Kahn, 47, was remembered in a service at Shaughnessy Banks Funeral Home on Reef Road as a hardworking father who was devoted to his family.
Relatives say Kahn went to work this past Saturday to provide for his family, even though he usually did not work on weekends. Police say he was using a forklift to make a delivery of wood in Ansonia when it overturned, leaving him critically injured.
Kahn was rushed to Griffin Hospital in Derby, and then later transferred to Yale-New Haven Hospital, where he died on Monday.
Loved ones say the tragic death left many in disbelief.
Police say the cause of the accident remains under investigation.
