A 62-year-old man survived being shot eight times after police say a man robbed him of his gold chain necklace in the Soundview section of the Bronx.
The incident happened Sunday near Boynton Avenue around 9 p.m.
The victim was approached from behind by the man who snatched his necklace.
According to police, the 62-year-old turned around to face the thief and was shot eight times.
Police say a 30-year-old man was also shot in the knee.
Both men were transported to Jacobi Medical Center in stable condition.
Police have released surveillance images of the suspect wanted in the robbery turned shooting.
