A 56-year-old Bronx man placed first at a national bodybuilding competition.
Angel Hernandez won first place in three categories at the American Natural Bodybuilding competition, including best open overall.
Not only was Hernandez the oldest competitor, but also the lightest, only weighing 130 pounds.
The father of four has a full-time job, but still trains seven days a week, sometimes using the equipment at Pelham Bay Park.
He says if you diet and exercise, you can slow the aging process and beat time.
He says no one believed him when he said he wanted to be a bodybuilder, but to everyone's surprise he overcame any obstacles in his way.
He hopes to compete in more professional shows and eventually inspire organizers to bring a show to the Bronx.
