Forecast: Temperatures in the 50s Friday, heavy rain for the weekend

Rain is expected this weekend across parts of New Jersey, and could be heavy at points throughout the weekend.

News 12 New Jersey Meteorologist James Gregorio says temperatures Friday will be in the low-50s, with mostly cloudy skies. Gregorio says there is the chance for rain late in the day.

Temperatures overnight will drop into the mid-40s, with cloudy skies and mild conditions. The steady rain will begin during the overnight hours.

Saturday is expected to see temperatures in the high-40s, with steady rain throughout the day. The rain is expected to be heavy at times. Some southern parts of the state could receive up to two inches of rain.

Sunday should see mostly cloudy skies, with periods of rain continuing. Temperatures will be in the mid-40s.
