The NYC Ferry is launching in just a few days, and News 12 was able to get a look inside of the new vessels.
On May 1, New Yorkers will be able to hop aboard the new ferries that will allow riders a full view of the city’s waterfront.
The launch of the ferry will be the first new citywide ferry system in over 100 years.
The system’s goal is to provide an affordable means of alternative transportation to underserved and growing communities throughout the city.
The ferries will also offer concessions, including soft drinks, sun block, snacks, self-serve coffee, wine and beer.
The system is only partially launching on May 1. All six routes are expected to be in service by 2018.
