Teen Joshua Acosta killed in double stabbing outside Samuel Gompers High School
A teenager is dead following a double stabbing outside a Bronx school.
The stabbing happened near Samuel Gompers High School on East 147th Street and Wales Avenue at around 4 p.m. Monday.
According to police, 18-year-old Joshua Acosta died Tuesday morning at Lincoln Hospital after sustaining stab wounds to his torso. His 20-year-old brother, Christopher Acosta, was stabbed in the back, but has been treated and released from the same hospital.
News 12 has learned that both victims had prior arrests. Joshua was arrested for jumping a turnstile, and Christopher was arrested for assault. The Department of Education says the two young men are not students at Samuel Gompers.
No arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing. Police say they are questioning a person of interest.
