Man robbed, assaulted after meeting woman through Facebook

A man who connected with a woman on Facebook was robbed and assaulted when he met with her earlier this month.
Police say the 22-year-old man met the woman through the social networking site and invited her to his apartment on Sept. 9. They say she was there for about 25 minutes before she said she needed to leave. As the victim escorted her out of the apartment, investigators say three men pushed their way inside.
Police say one of the suspects was armed. The victim was then forced onto the floor, where he was assaulted and tied up. Authorities say the suspects robbed the man of his cash, cellphone, computer equipment and sneakers. He refused medical attention.
Police are not saying if the woman was involved with the robbery. Surveillance video caught the three suspects inside his apartment building on East 166th Street.
Anyone with information about the incident is urged to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
