Police are saying goodbye to an NYPD officer killed in a car crash while on duty early Sunday morning.
The viewing for fallen NYPD Officer Michael Williams was held Wednesday in Hopewell Junction.
Officials say Williams, 25, was ejected from the back seat of the police van he and eight others were riding in when the van hit a concrete barrier along the Bruckner Expressway.
Friends of Williams say it is tragic that he only had eight short months to live out his lifelong dream of becoming an officer.
Williams' funeral will be held Thursday in Lagrangeville, located in Dutchess County.
