10-year-old boy punched, had bike stolen at 1398 Grand Concourse in Mount Eden

A 10-year-old boy was punched in the face and had his bicycle stolen this week in Mount Eden.

The incident occurred Thursday afternoon at 1398 Grand Concourse.

The boy was walking his bike up the steps of his apartment building when someone sitting there allegedly struck him without warning.

The boy's father, who works at a candy store around the corner, says he tried to track down the suspect, but was unsuccessful.

Police are reviewing video from a nearby security camera and have placed fliers throughout the neighborhood as part of their investigation.

The boy's father says he will be sending his son back to their home county of Yemen as a result of the incident.
