Nonprofit group Devil Dog USA working to house ex-military studentsPosted: Updated:
Veterans aided by the nonprofit group Devil Dog USA, which is working to provide housing for former servicemen and women heading to college, call it a godsend.
"When i got out of the military, I had a rough transition," says Gonzalo Duran, the chief executive officer and founder of the organization.
One of the biggest issues young veterans heading to school face is housing.
Financial aid does not always cover room and board fees, so Duran and his Devil Dog team are renovating an unoccupied house in Belmont.
The team is made up of other veterans who say they can relate to some of the hardships of returning to civilian life.
