A popular Bronx restaurant is celebrating the expansion of its Westchester Avenue location.
The Isla Verde Cafe, known for its Puerto Rican cuisine, held a ribbon-cutting ceremony Friday for the new space.
Resident Barbara Pacheco turned her old bar into a restaurant three years ago, and says the expansion is a big step for her and the community.
Pacheco says the restaurant contributes much to the community, including the local YMCA, in addition to employing locals.
