Police: Man shot, injured near Hughes Avenue, East 188th Street in Belmont
Police say a man was shot and injured in Belmont Saturday morning, just blocks away from the Bronx Zoo.
A resident at Hughes Avenue and East 188th Street told News 12 she heard gunshots at around 6 a.m. as a man and woman were arguing.
She says she then heard more gunfire followed by screaming.
Police say the victim was shot in the leg and taken to St. Barnabas Hospital.
