Ray Rice's wife has reportedly taken to social media to defend her husband.
The Baltimore Ravens cut the running back, and he was suspended indefinitely by the NFL after a video was released Monday that allegedly shows him knocking out his then-fiancee, Janay Palmer, back in February.
According to several published reports, including ESPN, Palmer made a statement about the incident on her Instagram. "I woke up this morning, feeling like I had a horrible nightmare, feeling like I'm mourning the death of my closest friend," Rice wrote in the post. "But to have to accept the fact that it's reality is a nightmare itself. No one knows the pain that the media & unwanted opinions from the public has caused my family. To make us relive a moment in our lives that we regret every day is a horrible thing."
She went on to write, "To take something away from the man I love that he has worked his ass off for all his life just to gain ratings is horrific. THIS IS OUR LIFE! What don't you all get. If your intentions were to hurt us, embarrass us, make us feel alone, take all happines away, you've succeeded on so many levels. Just know you've succeeded on so many levels. Just know we will continue to grow & show the world what real love is! Ravensnation we love you!"
The grainy video, released by TMZ Sports, apparently shows Rice and Palmer in an elevator at an Atlantic City casino. Each hits the other before Rice knocks Palmer off her feet and into a railing.
